Welcome to the website of Jacky (Jacqueline) Cowdrey.

My love of drawing started at school, beginning a lifelong fascination with the human form. I went onto study Fine Art and Illustration at Twickenham College, receiving a thorough grounding in life drawing and oil painting, and developing my love of colour. I work in all types of mediums, my favourites being acrylic inks, also pastels and oils. I love portrait painting, painting figures within restaurants or playing instruments and I sometimes venture into the great outdoors to paint landscapes. Life drawing is another passion, I attend classes at the Royal Academy, my happy place, also locally. Playing with paint and coloured washes underlined with careful drawing is what I love doing the most.

 

I am Publicity and Exhibitions Secretary of the Dorking Group of Artists with whom I exhibit twice a year. My home is near Epsom in Surrey, where I have my own studio - and where I will be hosting Surrey Open Studios.
